Women Organisers of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Western Region have praised Mr Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin as an indispensable asset of the party that deserves respect and support.

At a meeting in Tarkwa over the weekend, the women Akatamansonians, mainly made up of branch Women Organisers, declared that the Nadowli Kaleo MP and Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament was a worthy Presidential material.

'Honourable Bagbin is a great politician and a thoroughbred Akatamansonian that our great party can vest our future in,' said, Madam Gladys Agyiri, the Women Organiser for Tarkwa Nsuaem.

Gladys Agyiri did not choose any of the Presidential aspirants over the other, but along with the rest of the Women Organisers, she welcomed Mr Bagbin's promise to make party executives benefit under his leadership, as the way to go for the NDC

She said as a thoroughbred party woman herself, who was unshakable in her faithfulness to the NDC, she could identify with Mr Bagbin.

Currently, preparing to contest for the position of Regional Women Organiser for Western Region, Gladys Agyiri is an unsung heroin of the party and has suffered discriminations.

She recently sponsored the party's Unity Walk in the Western region.

'Honourable Bagbin is a great politician indeed, and it shows openly; this is the MP who has been able to maintain the Nadowli Kaleo seat for us since he became MP in 1993, this shows he has his house in order.

'It also shows that he has good interpersonal skills that win people over.' She added that Mr Bagbin's experience as Majority and Minority Leader were indispensable.

The Tarkwa Nsuaem NDC Constituency Women Organiser said, what has made many party executives fall in love with Mr Bagbin was his straight forward promise to make executives of the party benefit from his leadership if he was elected Flagbearer.

'I experienced first-hand, the neglect by our own National Organiser, who knew our contributions to the party, but when my husband died, not even a phone call from the National Organiser, it was the National Chairman, Dr Kofi Portuphy, who came to the funeral and showed love.

'As a businesswoman, my source of livelihood has become a target for this current administration which is doing everything to collapse my business, but I say I do not care, because NDC runs in my very blood and I am prepared to die for my party.'

She decried the neglect that party executives suffered under their own government saying those who had suffered the most were the branch executives.

According to her, she mostly encountered the branch executives at functions where they vented their frustrations.

Madam Agyiri blamed the neglect many suffered on the likes of current National Organiser, Kofi Adams, saying she hoped the bitter defeat that the NDC suffered in the 2016 election had taught everyone a good lesson.

Responding to why she helped organise the Western Regional Unity Walk even though it was under John Mahama's Presidency that she suffered neglect, she said she did so out of her faithfulness to her party and it was a thing she will never regretted.

She however advised that the neglect must cease going forward.

Mrs Evelyn Cobbinah, Women Organiser for Tamso Compound 'A' said Mr Bagbin is a great politician who is humble, very respectful and deserves to be Flagbearer, anyone who doesn't know Mr Bagbin is a novice in politics'.
