Maverick Brong Ahafo Regional Youth Organiser of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe popularly known as Abronye DC has asked Ghanaians to disregard a news circulating on social media and other media portals that the former Ashanti Regional Commander released guns seized by the police back to those criminals on 'order from above' with contempt it deserves.

www.mynewsgh.com reported on Thursday, February 8, 2018 with the caption, "Kofi Boakye released guns to 'NDC criminals' on orders - Abronye DC.

According to www.mynewsgh.com, Abronye DC said those criminals were aligned to the then ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and were given free range to operate.

"I am telling you, call Kofi Boakye and ask him about the guns that he was called to release in the run-up to the 2016 elections in November. The guns were seized but it was released again. Order from above made him release the guns and those arrested were asked to be allowed to go", the vociferous NPP youth executive alleged, this according to www.mynewsgh.com

But in a sharp rebuttal, Abronye DC has stated without equivocation that such statement was authored by him hence rubbished it and described it as a cooked-up story.

"I would like to use this medium to state categorically clear and clear all the ambiguity in the minds of everyone that, I (Kwame Baffoe Abronye DC) have not made any such statement or whatsoever", he cleared.

He added, "I would however encourage the entire citizenry and the media to disregard, brush-off and discount that said apocryphal statement captured by news portals".

My attention has been drawn to news circulating on social media and other media portals which has my name tagged in with the caption "Kofi Boakye released guns to NDC criminals on orders"

I would like to use this medium to state categorically clear and clear all the ambiguity in the minds of everyone that, I (Kwame Baffoe Abronye DC) have not made any such statement or whatsoever.

I would however encourage the entire citizenry and the media to disregard, brush - off and discount the said apocryphal statement captured by the news portals.

Furthermore, all who listened or have listened to my audio will bear witness with me that, the reportage circulating on social media is entirely contrary to the facts of my exact audio and as a matter of necessity, it must be deemed as a cooked - up story and more importantly a mendacious and distorted reportage.

I would therefore like to once again emphasize that, in the audio, I was only making reference to certain guns which were seized by the Kofi Boakye (Ashanti Regional police commander) as he then was.

Subsequently, the guns were reportedly migrated to Accra upon the instructions and orders of the top police command.

It must be noted that, as at the time the guns were seized, Kofi Boakye was not at the National headquarters of the police command.

I was thereby demanding for the current where about of those allegedly seized ammunitions by the then regional Commander.

I further requested for the where about of ammunitions which were also seized in the volta region prior to the 2016 general elections.

It could be established therefore at this point that, the heavily counterfactual reportage should be disdained and overlooked.
