The Brong Ahafo Regional branch of the New Patriotic Party has, in no uncertain terms, condemned the recent attack on its Youth Organiser, Kwame Baffoe, popularly called Abronye CD, at Atebubu-Amantin District last Saturday, while he was on “a duty tour.”

“The party wishes to condemn the act in no uncertain terms and call on the police in the region to expedite action in carrying out the needed arrests and investigations to bring the perpetrators to book”, Thomas Adu Appiah, Regional Chairman said at a News Conference in Sunyani yesterday.

“Our initial checks and information prove that Mr. Kwame Baffoe was on a peaceful mission of meeting constituency executives to outline his plans for the party in respect of the impending regional and national elections when the barbaric attack got carried out on him.”

Mr. Adu Appiah therefore called for thorough investigations into the matter to ensure that “the attackers and their possible motivators are made to face the full rigors of the law to serve as a deterrent to others.

“We would also like to bring to the attention of the Regional Police Command and the Atebubu District Command of the Ghana Police Service to act immediately on the formal complaint laid before them by Kwame Baffoe.”

“We cannot protect the many law abiding citizens of the Republic if we fail to sanction the few miscreants in our midst. Crime has no colour and those who indulge in it should be ready at any point in time to answer for their actions.”

The Regional Chairman assured that Kwame Baffoe was responding to treatment stressing that “the issue shall not rest until the perpetrators of this heinous crime are brought to book.
