The Consul General to the United States, H.E. Professor Samuel Amoako, has been meeting Ghanaian communities since he took office earlier this year.

On Saturday, October 21st 2017, he met another section of the community, Amansie Kuo, on the behest of the association’s leadership to attend its annual fundraising dinner held in the Bronx.

Mr. Emmanuel Adu Gyamfi, president of the association, revealed that the association’s mission included funding schools, hospitals, and other community projects in Amansie and its surrounding towns in the district. The fundraiser was therefore to honor that purpose.

The president of the association was intrigued by His Excellency’s good intentions and actions which demystify the office of the Consul General by giving audience to the members of the community it serves without having to go through unnecessary bureaucracies and protocols.

On his part, the Consul General thanked the association for performing its social responsibility with excellence.

The Consul General was at a separate event earlier in the week, where he was invited to be a guest of honor at the Ghanaian Hotel Workers Association inaugural dinner dance, as he continues to give meaning to his interactive work model and deepen his relationship with the Ghanaian community at large.

He reiterated President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s vision to industrialize the economy and urged the hotel workers to project the positive image of Ghana to the people they come into contact with at their various workplaces that will attract investors to Ghana.

In particular, Professor Samuel Amoako urged the audience to take advantage of the president’s initiatives, including One District, One Factory, One Village One Damn, and the Zongo Development projects and invest in them and in the hospitality industry. This, he argued are the key areas that will boost the capacity of the private sector as the engine of growth and produce jobs for the teeming unemployed youth.

In his final remarks, the Consul General broke the news to his audience about a new policy instrument in the offing for the Ghanaian family that will formalize the dual Citizenship status of Ghanaian children born in the United States.

He assured the communities of his preparedness to engage them to better serve them.
