The business trip is to seek expansion on businesses, attract new investors and to strategically position the Municipal Assembly in the international business community.

According to the MCE, the business partnership with the Egyptian counterparts is in line with the key objective of the Government's flagship industrial development initiatives programmes, seeking to collaborate with the private sector, which includes the one district one factory, one district one silo, one region one industrial park, outlined in government's job creation policy.

The visit, in collaboration with the Egyptian Embassy, aimed at looking for business partnership, new inventions and technologies to invest and develop in the municipality.

The MCE and the business delegation had so had series of meetings with some Egyptian businessmen in Cairo and Alexandria with various stakeholders and institutions that are interested in partnering businesses abroad.

Mr Wilkinson said the government resources and funding were inadequate and there would be the need to scout for potential investors in the municipality, which he described as 'the gateway to Accra'.

He said he was committed to bring to the fore an innovative type of leadership to market municipality.

He, therefore, urged all foreign and local businessmen who were interested in investing in the municipality to get onboard to provide an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.
