NIB Whips Fraudsters In Landmark Victory—John K. Asamoah In Comfortable Lead

It almost seemed as if a storm had clutched on with the viciousness of a struggling jungle predator and the tenacity of monkey that would not let go off its newfound treasure. This storm was threatening to lash out with the force of a hurricane never seen since the flood of Noah.

A group of fraudsters, so they seemed, somehow managed to cook a plan to defraud the National Investment Bank (NIB) with a claim of some 120 million US Dollars. A legal battle ensued, which was won by the supposed fraudsters.

The verdict was appealed, but sadly upheld. The grounds seemed quaky as the fate of customer accounts became precariously insecure. The truth of the matter was that should the bank have succumbed, the fraudsters would have practically taken over to claim the humongous judgment debt.

We take solace in the fact that there remain honest people with a conscience that refuses to die. DrJohn KwekuAsamoah, the current Managing Director of the Bank did not kowtow. In fact, so religiously did he take the interest of the nation and the Bank’s customers that he took up the challenge of sending the case to the Supreme Court. He believed that no matter what, there were some Justices who still had a live conscience.

He told many people around him that his faith in GOD was intransigent, and he believed that the GOD of justice would not allow such grave injustice as the previous judgment smacked of. The newly sworn in Chief Justice, Madam Sophia Akufo, headed the panel of Justices that heard the case.

On Wednesday, June 21, 2017, this scrupulous panel of Justices did not prove him wrong. Like this affable MD of NIB, Dr John KwekuAsamoah, their conscience refused to pass a skewed judgment that would otherwise spell doom on the bank and its customers. The verdict returned in a unanimous decision 5-0 against the fraudsters.

Dr John KwekuAsamoah, has got the reins of the horse in a tight grasp. The dark cloud that almost unleashed its dreaded storm soon dissipated, and the National Investment Bank has finally gained control of its own destiny, thanks to the MD and his hardworking colleagues who shared a common interest; the interest of protecting the national purse and the accounts of tens of thousands who have an unrelenting faith in the Bank.

Congratulations to the Bank, its employees, customers, and especially the Managing Director, Dr John KwekuAsamoah. He is truly a shining example of an exuberant young man with a clear vision, sterling mission, and loyal passion to serve his country.
