The Brong-Ahafo Committee of the Ghana@60 celebrations has received Ghc30,000 air time sponsorship from Global Media Partners, operators of Space Fm, a Sunyani-based radio station.
According to Mr Yaw Aboagye Boadi, the General Manager of Space fm, the sponsorship package was aimed at helping to intensify publicity on the celebrations.
He expressed concern about the low publicity which had characterised the celebrations and appealed to the media to hype the occasion to improve participation.
Mr Kwaku Asomah-Cheremeh, the Brong-Ahafo Regional Minister expressed appreciation to the station and appealed to other corporate bodies to support.
He said the New Patriotic Party (NPP) recognised the contributions of both the print and electronic media towards the successful conduct of the December polls.
Mr Asomah-Cheremeh, said what the government expected from the media was constructive critisms and avoid embellishments of stories.
He thanked the chiefs and people of the region for the support they gave him when he was nominated by the President and he expressed the optimism that they would continue with such support for the socioeconomic development of the region
