I often times bury my face in my palms when I visit organisations and school authorities mentioning NUGS. This is because of the libelous and pejorative comments that comes through their mouth like a rushing wind. One thing that is common in their statements is *NUGS is useless, you have allowed politicians to buy your conscience*. To some extent I share their sentiments looking at the consistent hullabaloo that has bedevilled the student front.

Why should intellectuals like students be convinced by political and government apparatchiks to do their bidden at the expense of the core principles that underpin NUGS!

Indubitably, NUGS in the past was one of the greatest non partizan student movement that resisted hash and unpopular policies that has the propensity of putting the ordinary student in a social discomfort. They stood by the principle, " Education a right not a privilege" and charge their way through the thickest nights with some of the leadership losing their lives in order to ensure that the Ghanaian student enjoys the best. *I doff off my heart for such falling heroes*

We cannot and must not admit political infiltration in our noble students front because, we have a responsibility of holding government and all other stakeholders responsible to ensuring that we have good, legitimate and credible policies that will churn out easy access to education, graduate employment, affordable school fees amidst other things.

NUGS has a responsibility to making sure that there is a "rejuvenation " of the *students Loan, GETFUND and fair allocation of scholarship to students by the scholarship Secretariat* It is our duty to promote capacity building , talent development, credible educational policies to stakeholders and exchange programs among our constituents. How can will achieve this if we continue drawing dagger against each other ? Are we not tired of the laughing stock we made of ourselves in public?

There is a popular Ghanaian proverb that" a child that is intelligent follows the path of the father on a farmland that is full of traps. Let us imitate our fathers ,University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG)..They belong to different political parties but are much united if the issue have to concern them. That explains the fact that, we can come together and present one resolution on any issue of students interest and stand by it despite our political affiliation. It doesn't matter who is in government, whether Npp or NDC. One thing we must keep in mind is that, what we do today will one day affect generations tomorrow. It has a replica effect on the posterity of Ghana . I urge all students to stand for the future of NUGS and Ghana, let us revive NUGS by removing our political lenses.

My final word of advise to the current leadership elect of NUGS is that, we ( CC, Congress) will not tolerate any attempt by any national executive to use NUGS for political scores. That most of us will resist with all our might. Enough of the nonsense! Let NUGS work again. We are tired of the tomfoolery, we are tired of the hugger mugger. NUGS is one! No one, No party can divide us
