Assembly releases money to schools

GNA

Mpasatia (Ash), Dec 10, GNA- The Atwima-Mponua District Assembly has released 20 million cedis to the Nyinahin and Mpasatia Secondary Schools.

This was disclosed by Mr Asamoah Noah, the District Finance Officer of the Assembly at the inauguration of a 10-member procurement committee for the Mpasatia Secondary School at Mpasatia on Thursday. He said the money was from the assembly's common fund. Mr Noah assured the two schools that the new district assembly would give priority to education, health, sanitation and agriculture. Mr Eddy Obeng-Darko, Atwima District Director of Education, advised members of the procurement committee to be honest and transparent in their activities.

He said the inauguration of the committee would help eliminate corruption, under-invoicing and over-invoicing.

Mr Obeng-Darko commended the assembly for releasing the money to the schools and hoped it would continue to support schools in the District.
