New Edubiase (Ash), July 28, GNA- The Adansi East District Assembly has earmarked 20 million cedis to strengthen security before, during and after the December polls.

Mr Dominic Alfred Yeboah, the District Chief Executive, who announced this, said the move was designed to control any violence during the elections.

He was speaking at the second ordinary meeting of the Assembly on Tuesday at New Edubiase.

He said since the creation of the district it had enjoyed peace in spite of its multi-ethnic nature, pointing out that this had enabled the assembly to embark on a number of development projects.

Mr Yeboah commended the traditional rulers for their co-operation in the maintenance of peace in the district and urged them to continue to support the assembly in its quest for peace in the district.
