India: 7 NDFB(S) Militants Apprehended, Huge Cache Of Arms Seized In Assamthe SMAA Is Organised By Media Conglomerates

Guwahati, January 9 (IBNS): Security forces apprehended seven militants belonging to National Democratic Front of Bodoland (Sangbijit) including two hardcore militants involved in recent massacre and recover huge cache of arms and ammunition in Assam's Kokrajhar district on Friday, police said.

Assam police IGP BTAD Dr LR Bisnoi said that army and police had launched jointly operation at Kachugaon area in the district and nabbed seven NDFB(S) militants.

Security forces recovered four AK-47 rifles, one HK-33 rifle, one M-16 rifle, one insas rifle, four 9mm pistols, six magazines, 12 hand grenades, 300 rounds live ammunition from Thausiguri area near Kachugaon reserve forest in the BTAD district in separate operation followed apprehending the militants.

"Among the nabbed militants two hardcore extremists Mithinga and Khureil involved in the recent massacre by NDFB(S) militants in Kokrajhar and Sonitpur district left more than 80 people death," Dr LR Bisnoi said.
