The God Of Miracles In Gaza

The rebirth of the state of Israel is a miracle of an un-equalled proportion. It tore into pieces the “Replacement theology” which claimed that God was done with Israel as an earthly nation and that he had chosen the church instead.Proponents of such an ideology forget that God has vowed never to abandon Israel as a nation in Jeremiah 31: 35 – 38.

In Romans 11:1-2, 8 we are told that God just gave them a slumber so that Gentiles can enter Gods kingdom. Since the restoration of Israel in 1948, God has repeatedly saved his people in mysterious ways to show that He hasn't abandoned them. Here are just two examples from the recent Gaza conflict:

A soldier returning from a Gaza operation told this testimony at a local synagogue. He and his army unit identified and surrounded a house of a Hamas operative.

They made all the arrangements to go in and arrest him. Just then, they saw a strange dove hovering overhead, as they watched the dove, it landed on a tiny string. Then,within seconds, the house blew up. The string was the detonator and was connected to the door; the house was a booby trap. Had they gone in, they could have all perished in that house.

Another one is told by one of the Israeli soldiers manning the Iron Dome defence system. They picked up information that a missile was fired from Gaza, and was headed for the centre of Tel Aviv. He said they shot at it three times but missed it. They now knew that disaster was eminent and alerted all the emergency crew on the ground, in and around Tel Aviv. He said as they were scrambling to do everything to save Tel Aviv, a huge wind came from nowhere and swept the missile into the sea.

The man says the wind was not a normal one because it was not there before the missile and was not there after it. He said the missile was not swept just inches but miles from its intended target. You need to understand that missiles are not only heavy but fast moving killer objects. This soldier was an avowed secularist, he openly declared to begin believing in the God of Israel. He said there's no scientific or weather-related explanation for that mysterious wind. He has now started attending a local synagogue.

These and other un- reported stories show that God still regards Israel as His people. It's very easy to be carried away by the biased media and begin screaming common absurdities at the Jewish people. The media did not report that among the dead are 750 militants, all we are told is that all of them are babies. Nobody is interested to tell us that the Gaza missiles were fired from different sites including the following: 597 from civilian facilities, 260 from schools, 160 from religious sites including mosques, 127 from cemeteries and 50 were fired from hospitals.

They also don't tell us that from July 8 to August 5, Israel has transferred 1,856 trucks carrying 40,550 tons of supplies to Gaza, (37,178tons of food, 1694 tons of humanitarian goods and 1, 029 tons of medicine and medical supplies).

In any conflict, people take sides. The problem is that people get so entrenched in their position that they don't want to listen from the other side as well. Any loss of life is regretted but that should not blind us from pin pointing the cause of it. Golda Meir once said, “We may forgive the Arabs for killing our children, but we will not forgive them for making us kill their children”. If Israel is a demon we are made to believe she is, then, its Arab neighbours are to blame for making her that demon.
