A group of Ghanaian Catholics in Palermo, Italy has donated ¢10 million cash to the St X'avier Hospital at Assin Fosu in the Central Region.

Making the presentation, Mr Patrick Marfo Sarbeng, an Elder of the group, said the members decided to show love for their people at home by contributing towards the improvement of their living conditions.

He said they organized fund raising activities and harvests in the church to realize the amount. He said it was the group's aim to have such donations made in all the Regions and noted that this was the third time of their presentation with the first one going to the Kokofu Leprosyrium in Ashanti Region, and the second one was to the Asiakwa Children's Home in the Eastern Region.

Receiving the gift, Sister Isabel Gaztambide, the Administrator of the hospital, thanked the donors for their kind gesture. She said the amount would be used to help not only the needy patients at the hospital but the poor elders in the community.
