Freko FD Saga: Desperate KMA Boss Wants Kumasi Judge Transferred?
09.12.2013 LISTEN

One of the many court cases in the country recently which has gained much public attention is the case between Freko FD company limited and the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) which is ongoing in a Kumasi High Court.

The legal tussle was as a result of the KMA's invasion at the terminal with soldiers and police men wielding assault rifles who, on the orders of the Mayor of Kumasi Kojo Bonsu, locked all offices of Freko FD, managers of the terminal.

The act which not only surprised many residents of Kumasi but also infuriated them, made madam Freda Darko, Managing Director of Freko FD to seek assistance from the court to explain to Mr. Kojo Bonsu that nobody is above the law, irrespective of your political, economic or social status.

The court presided over by Justice Amo Yartey ordered the KMA mayor and all his assigns at the terminal to leave immediately and restore the facility to its original status before they 'invaded' it. But unfortunately Kojo Bonsu impudently refused to heed to the order.

Mr. Kojo Bonsu who went to the court with a retinue of NDC loyalists and 'bootlickers' singing his praise only to be embarrassed by the Judge, Justice Emmanuel Amo Yartey.

The High Court judge made it clear to the mayor that nobody is indeed above the laws of the land, not him, not the president, or anyone anybody can think of.

So he ordered again, resolutely, that the mayor should go back and obey his previous order by letting his assigns and agents vacate the terminal within five days and the hearing of the substantive case can come on.

The shameful looking Kojo Bonsu stepping out of the court with his white handkerchief pushed into his pocket, and his followers also hiding their in their hand bags, asked his lawyer Thadeous Sory to announce to the journalists present that he would again not obey the court.

However after several bashing on radio stations across the country, and sensing the disgrace his ego would bring to the already embarrassing JDM government, then asked his sycophant followers to now say they would leave the terminal.

Now news reaching us indicate that the shamefaced Kojo Bonsu is feverishly making calls for the High Court Judge, Justice Amo Yartey to be transferred from Kumasi to avoid further embarrassment on him, his assembly, and his boss John Dramani Mahama.

"We hope this does not come out to be true knowing that most Ghanaians especially those in Ashanti region are enthused about the confidence showed by the court to teach the egoistic mayor that power, indeed lies with the constitution of the country," a source close to Freko FD wondered.
