A 27-year-old tailor based in Sunyani, Samuel Osae Boampong was murdered over the weekend by an unidentified person, believed to be his gay partner.
Speculations are rife in New Town, a suburb of the Sunyani Municipality that the deceased was murdered by his gay partner who came over during the weekend from Kumasi.
DSP Christopher Tawiah, Brong Ahafo Regional Police Public Relations Officer, in an interview said the police were still investigating the incident.
'Our initial investigation revealed that the guy from Kumasi visited the deceased and even at the scene of the crime the police found condom with some specimen, which is believed to be sperms," DSP Tawiah disclosed.
He noted "When the police were invited to the scene, Samuel Osae Boampong was lying down dead with cuts on his body.'
However, the uncle of the deceased, Awere Mensah Abrampah, has denied the speculations in Sunyani that his nephew was a gay.
He noted that the deceased was in a relationship with a lady whom he was preparing to marry.
The body of the deceased has since been deposited at the Brong Ahafo Regional Hospital mortuary pending investigations.
