(AFP) Juventus could clinch their 29th Scudetto title on Sunday afternoon if they draw or defeat the relegation threatened Palermo, which could see Kwadwo Asamoah crowned the first African to win the title with the club.

The match will take place at the Juventus Stadium with kick-off at 15h00 (CAT).

It has been a rather easy path to glory for the Bianconeri this season, managing to tally up 25 wins, five draws and just four defeats so far this season, and they stand just one point shy of successfully retaining their crown.

Last week their celebrations were delayed when Napoli stormed on to a 3-0 victory over Pescara, but with just three more games remaining after Sunday, Juventus will be mathematically confirmed as the season's winners.

Crucial in paving the yellow brick road to the Scudetto has been Juve's Ghanaian workhorse in Asamoah. Not only has he endured a successful debut season at the club, but he has gelled in like a seasoned campaigner with the squad.

The title will be his first ever on Italian soil and he will claim the prestigious title of becoming the first African to be crowned a Scudetto Champion in the Bianconeri colours.

And he took to his official Twitter account to express his excitement in edging closer to the title, following the team's 2-0 victory over Torino last week.

“Great win in derby today. Another step closer!!! #FinoAllFine,” he wrote.

In complete contrast, Palermo's struggles have lead them on a path full of potholes, but they somehow managed to avoid one last Sunday when they stunned the crowd with a 1-0 victory over Inter.

The win only but boded well with the Aquile, removing themselves out of the relegation zone, but they still sit in danger of falling back in as they only edge out Genoa- who occupy the final drop spot- on goal difference.

Their win, which only but bristled the hairs of the back of Inter's neck, will provide the right amount of confidence going into the game on Sunday and they will no doubt be out to delay Juve's party.

NB: “Stephan Appiah won the title with Juventus back 'n 2005 but was subsequently revoked due to their involement in the match fixing scandal.”
