Okwahuman Youth Association elects new officers

Nkawkaw, Feb. 28,  GNA - Reverend Atiemo Aryeh, Chairman of the Kwahu West Municipal Peace Council, has appealed to members of youth associations to support social interventions aimed at solving challenges facing the needy and the vulnerable.

He said this could include payment of school fees for the needy but brilliant children and caring for street children and the sick in the communities.

Rev. Aryeh made the call at the election of new executive members for the Okwahuman Youth Association at Nkawkaw on Thursday.

The association aimed at uniting all the various associations in the Kwahu area to contribute towards the development of the Kwahu Traditional Area.

He said the Kwahu area was the second after Akuapem where the Basel Missionaries introduced formal education but the area is now lacking behind in education standards and appealed to the association to contribute to raising education standards in the area.

Rev. Aryeh appealed to the newly elected executive to avoid greediness and ensure regular accountability and open administration for the members to have confidence in them and contribute towards the running of the association.
