The 1989-year group of the Mfantsipim Old Boys Association (MOBA 89) is organising a free health-screening programme at the Accra Mall on 1st, 2nd and 3rd of May as part of fundraising activities towards this year's Speech and Prize Giving Day.

Visitors to the mall will be screened for blood pressure, glaucoma, blood sugar and a host of other ailments.

There will also be free stress relief massage services.

Kwesi Berko, the Group's President said beneficiaries of these free services would be requested to make token donations towards the development of facilities at Mfantsipim.

The President said doctors drawn from several hospitals in the metropolis had agreed to support the screening and will be providing their services for free.

He called on shoppers to take advantage of the holiday period to check their health while they shop. “You will be killing two birds with one stone and helping to support the education of our youth,” he noted.

Berko said special Mfantsipim souvenirs will be on sale and urged old students to endeavour to be at the Accra Mall to participate in the health check and purchase the souvenirs which include custom-made MOBA car crowns and Mfantsipim wrist bands.

Mfantsipim tradition demands that a year group that is 20 years old sponsors the Speech and Prize giving day activities. This year's mantle has fallen on MOBA 89.
