Ahanta Assembly clears filth

The Ahanta West District Assembly yesterday embarked on a clean-up exercise to rid the District of filth. The exercise falls in line with President J. E. Atta Mills' initiative to rid the communities of filth. The exercise started at 6:00 a.m., and was well patronised by indigenes of the District.

At Agona Nkwanta, capital of the District where the exercise was concentrated, the Coordinating Director of the Assembly, Mr. Zakaria Alhassan, led the exercise.

The main Agona market was also rid of filth.
Each community took the day to do their own clean-up exercises, with school pupils taking part in the exercise, which saw them weeding and cleaning their school compounds.
