A Sekondi District Magistrate's Court on Monday remanded Robert Mperebi, a 19-year old student for allegedly stealing and unlawful entry.
The accused, also known as Paa Kwesi, pleaded not guilty and is to re-appear on April 2.
Prosecuting, Police Sergeant Godwin Bawa said the accused and Alice Cobbinah, the complainant, lived in the same area at Effiakuma New Site.
He said the complainant had a hairdressing saloon in the area and about 0130 hours on January 26 this year, the accused used an old broken cutlass to break into the saloon while the complainant was asleep.
Sergeant Bawa said the accused made away with a standing hair dryer, one hand hair dryer, one television set, one tape recorder, cash and other items.
He said when the complainant detected the theft, she made a report to the Police and the accused was arrested during the investigation of a different stealing case.
Sergeant Bawa said during interrogation, the accused admitted breaking into the saloon and stealing some items including the standing and hand hair dryers, television set, tape recorder and denied knowledge of the other items and cash reported stolen by the complainant.
