Chief performs purification rites for West African Gas Pipeline project

The Owosika Stool of Asere, has performed purification rites at Ayawaso in the Ga District, to ask the gods to protect pipelines that would be laid in the area, as part of the West African Gas Pipeline project.

Nii Owula Kpakpa Brofoyo II, Head of the Owosika Stool, who led the two- day rites at the sacred Gua Forest, prayed to the gods to ensure the success of the project.

Nii Brofoyo, who performed the rituals as a prelude to the annual Homowo (Hooting of hunger) festival, said the project would offer employment to the youth in the area.

He called on Gas to use the festival for the development of their local communities.

Nii Tettey Kojo II, Chief of Ayawaso, also lauded the project for its immense potential to offer job opportunities for the large army of unemployed youth in the country.
