A 56-year-old man has been sentenced to nine months imprisonment in hard labour by the Juaso Circuit Court for stealing three fowls worth GH¢20.00.

Kwasi Danso, who pleaded guilty to two counts of unlawful entry and stealing, was convicted on his own plea.

Police Superintendent Francis Agrippa Oppong, prosecuting, told the court presided over by Mr. S. K. Sarpong Appiah that the complainant was a farmer and lived at Ofoase whereas the accused also lived at Anyaaso, about 10 kilometers from Ofoase.

On February 19, this year, the complainant detected that three fowls had been stolen from his hen coop only to find the accused selling two of them at the Ofoase market on March one.

When the complainant confronted the accused he could not explain where he got the fowls, thereby reporting the case to the Ofoase Police who arrested the accused.

During interrogation, he admitted stealing the fowls from the complainant.
