Bolgatanga, Sept 1, GNA- The Upper East Regional House of Chiefs, has appealed to political parties not do anything to undermine Ghana’s hard won reputation, especially during the 2008 Election.
The House said it would be suicidal for the country’s national and international image to be marred during the elections.
The Paramount Chief of the Kayoro Traditional Area, Pe Oscar Tiyamo, said these when he was speaking on behalf of the chiefs, when the running mate to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flag bearer Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Dr Mohamudu Bawumia, called on them on Sunday at Bolgatanga.
He asked political parties to consider themselves as partners in development and not to do anything to disturb the peace prevailing in the country.
Pe Tiyamo stressed that “Politics is about development and not about conflicts. Politicians should be focusing more on strengthening the country’s democracy and not destroying It.”
