GOVERNMENT will construct a 2.7 kilometre road from Nawule Junction to Bonyere in the Jomoro District of the Western Region at the cost of GH¢14 million. 

In addition, a 2.15 kilometre road from Ezinlibo Junction to Ezinlibo Town in the same district will be constructed at the cost of GH¢5.4 million.

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Jomoro, Martin Yamikeh Ackah disclosed this during an interaction with the chiefs and people of Bonyere and Ezinlibo when updating them on programmes and policies of government at the weekend.

He assured the people that an European Union (EU) water project would take off soon and that beneficiary communities would be expected to contribute five per cent of the total cost of the project.

Mr. Ackah mentioned that the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. Patrick Acheampong had given the go-ahead for the construction of a police station at Bonyere, noting that work would soon commence.

On behalf of the assembly, the DCE presented 1,500 pieces of energy saving bulbs to the people, while Bonyere Catholic and Methodist Junior High Schools were each presented with 150 exercise books.

Meanwhile, the DCE has also presented 560 exercise books to students of Annor Adjaye Senior High School at Ezinlibo, and urged them to study hard to become useful citizens in future.
