Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Roads to be re-surfaced

The Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai District Assembly in the Western Region has allocated about GH¢4m for the tarring of some roads in the district. The projects would be financed by the central government from the Road Fund, the District's share of the Common Fund and the MP's Common Fund.

The District Chief Executive, Kingsley Agyei Manu who revealed this to Garden City Radio mentioned Chirano-Subri Junction, Lineso-Mframakrom, Asawinso-Diaso, Sefwi Bekwai-Apinkrom, Pata Boaso and Awaso town roads as some of the roads to benefit from the project.

He said a bridge would constructed over river Ankobra at Aboabo near Subri Junction at a cost of GH¢1.5m, to enable farmers to transport their produce to nearby markets in the district.

Mr Agyei Manu said many projects were undertaken by the Assembly in various communities in 2007.
These include hooking up 25 towns to the national grid, completion of 6.5km of town roads in Bibiani and the construction of police barracks and two police stations at Sefwi-Anhwiaso and Subri at a cost of GH¢40,000.
