A Magistrate's court at Mankranso in the Ahafo-Ano South District, imposed a fine of GH¢200 on a 29-year-old driver for careless driving resulting in an accident at Beposo, a suburb of Mankranso.
Karikari Agyemang who pleaded guilty will go to prison for 24-months in default.
Police Inspector Abraham Agyei Mensah, told the court presided over by Mr. Frank Owusu Afriyie, that on November 7, 2005, the accused was driving a commercial Isuzu Bus from Tepa to Kumasi.
He said, the accused was driving at top speed and when he got to a barrier at Beposo the vehicle veered off the road and ran into a ditch.
Prosecution said some of the passengers sustained various degrees of injuries and were rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Kumasi.
