The two lovers used to stay together at Adakope near Takoradi but separated due to a misunderstanding.

According to the prosecutor, somewhere in September this year the complainant visited the accused at Adakope and left in Kumi's room her ear drop container, in which was some medicine she was using to treat an ear ailment.

On September 20, 2007, the accused poured out the medicine in the container and filled it with a super glue solution.

At about 8:30 am that day, the accused handed over the container with its new content to the complainant to use.

The complaint unknowing used the “ear drop” and soon afterwards experienced great pain in both ears. After a critical examination of the contents, she discovered that it had been changed.

She therefore reported the case to the police and the accused was arrested. Upon interrogation, Kumi admitted the offence and was consequently put before court and charged with the offence.
