A Tricycle rider is battling for his life after a huge tree fell on him at Racecourse Market in the Kumasi Metropolis of the Ashanti Region.
The victim, believed to be in his early 30s reported suffering serious injury in his spine following the incident.
Some eyewitnesses in an interview with this reporter said the tree fell in the early hours of Thursday, May 23, 2024.
They added the victim is currently at the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital receiving treatment.
"The tree had been weakened for three days now after a long vehicle truck crashed into it.
"We tried our best to get the attention of authorities at The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly KMA to help cut it down but all our efforts proved futile," a trader, Kwaku Yeboah said.
Officials from the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) however rushed to the scene control situation on the ground.
