2024 election: Our message has been accepted; everything points to a one-touch victory for NDC – Asiedu Nketia

National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia has predicted a one-touch victory for the party and its flagbearer John Dramani Mahama in the 2024 General Election.

Speaking to Joy News on Thursday, May 23, the NDC National Chairman said what is left now is for the party to focus on those who will be counting the ballots at the end of the December 7 polls.

“Our message has been accepted. The two parties have been tried. There are opinion polls that have been churned out and everything points to a one-touch victory for NDC. But as has been said by some Russian president that, those who vote decide nothing but those who count the vote decide everything,” Johnson Asiedu Nketia said.

The NDC National Chairman continued, “So we are focusing on those who will be counting the vote and those who will be providing security to make sure that elections proceed uninterrupted. So that is where our focus is.”

Despite the confidence of the NDC National Chairman, political analysts have argued that the 2024 general election will be close.

The expectation is that the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will give former President John Dramani Mahama a tough contest.

Other analysts believe Dr. Bawumia is also favourite to win the presidential election.

Both flagbearers of the two biggest political parties in the country have stepped up their campaign in the last couple of weeks as they seek to convince the electorates to vote for them.
