The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet), is predicting sunny conditions for most areas of Ghana according to its 24-hour forecast released this morning, Thursday, May 23.

"Early morning mist and fog patches are expected for the forest and mountainous areas of the country this morning.

“However, as the day progresses, sunny conditions are anticipated for most parts of the country with chances of rain for the coastline, middle, transition and northern sectors, later in the afternoon into the evening," said Duty Forecaster Deborah Acheampong in the forecast bulletin.

Areas along the coast including Takoradi and Axim can expect a 30% chance of thunderstorms or rain (TSRA) in the afternoon, according to the forecast.

Inland cities such as Koforidua, Akim Oda and Sefwi Bekwai may also see isolated thunderstorms with a 30% probability during afternoon hours.

Parts of the north including Yendi, Tamale, Bole and Damongo will remain sunny with intervals of clouds throughout the day and a 40% chance of evening rainfall.

Meanwhile, the middle of the country in Kete Krachi and Kintampo can anticipate cloudy mornings with sunshine developing later and a 30-40% probability of evening thunderstorms.

The capital Accra, along with Kasoa and Kumasi, will enjoy sunny breaks after morning mist and fog dissipate with high temperatures reaching 33 degrees Celsius.
