Open Letter To Tamale Metro Mayor, Hon. Sule Salifu

Open Letter To Tamale Metro Mayor, Hon. Sule Salifu
LISTEN

Dear Mayor,
I bring to you warm salutations and I hope this letter of mine reaches you in good health and happiness.

Before I delve deeper into the meat of the reasons why I'm craving your indulgence and attention to the issues going in the public domain on "the total neglect of Tamale South Constituency as part of Tamale Metro under your watch as the Mayor."

To set the ball rolling, Tamale South Constituency deserves its share of the national cake and the authorities in charge i.e. the Tamale Metro Mayor must consider and hear the cry of the party youth in the Constituency.

It's mind-blowing for a Constituency which is part of the Tamale Metropolis to be sidelined and neglected in decision making and share of the government's projects.

Doubtless, Tamale South without an MP like Tamale Central contributes to the victory of the Party in the past Elections and the future ones.

However, why has the Tamale South Constituency been abandoned by you since you assumed office as Chief Executive for the two Constituencies? Is it a deliberate attempt or other hidden matters?

To state it categorically, Tamale South Constituency can boast of Knowledgeable and able people of high repute with the capacity to contribute their quota towards National development. However, it appears the contribution of the Party folks in the Constituency is not taken good care of especially when it comes to sharing opportunities i.e. jobs and others.

Respectfully, I write this without malice but to say it as it's devoid of personal or self-seeking interest. Hon. Mayor, you are serving both Constituencies and the share of government cake must not be limited to the Constituency where you are now the Parliamentary candidate.

In addition, there are so many job opportunities, physical infrastructure, and others that we have heard of that Tamale South Constituency cannot boast of its share adequately.

Dear Mayor, we have evidence of some projects and job opportunities being shared without the involvement of key stakeholders in the Tamale South Constituency which has to do with:

1. Astro Turf project and matters arising.
There are issues raised concerning the ongoing construction of AstroTurf in the Tamale Central Constituency and when completed will be two without one for Tamale South Constituency which comes with other benefits in the area of engaging the youth to facilitate and work at those sites.

2. The issue of the Fertilizer and other farm inputs is still hanging without any credible or reliable information on the matter and beneficiaries are still waiting to get their share since it comes from the party for them to benefit as polling station executives etc.

3. Ongoing construction of Hospital at Tugu Yapala in the Tamale South Constituency and other matters arising.

No doubt, this project is going on within the territories or jurisdiction of the Tamale South Constituency. But why were the key stakeholders in the Constituency not informed of the full scope of the project?

Furthermore, workers working at the place are people from Tamale Central Constituency which Constituents in Tamale South Constituency are peeved and unhappy about. With all due respect, this is unacceptable, to say the least.

4. No official invitation was extended to key stakeholders in the Tamale South Constituency during the swearing-in of newly elected Assembly members.

It will interest you to know that, relevant stakeholders and even the Parliamentary candidate for Tamale South Constituency were not invited to grace the event which doesn't promote peaceful coexistence.

5. People in charge of the Revenue collection at Guunayili Market.

People engaged to work for the Assembly at Guunayili Market as we are told are from Tamale Central Constituency and the market is under the jurisdiction of Tamale South Constituency.

Succinctly put, Hon. Mayor with the above-mentioned issues raised, can we conclude that your actions are deliberate to sideline Tamale South Constituency? If so why this unpopular stance on the sharing of the National cake equally amongst the two Constituencies?

Finally, I respectfully call on you to critically look into the matter before it goes out of hand for an amicable solution through an engagement with the concerned youth, Constituency Executives, and the Parliamentary candidate.

Thank you.
Shalom!
