Has John Dramani Mahama promised to use AI to fight “galamsey” if he wins power?

Has NDC presidential-candidate Mr John Dramani Mahama promised to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to fight and win the war against illegal small scale and alluvial mining (galamsey) ongoing in Ghana if he won general election December 2024?

Is he right up in the head? I don’t mean to insult him but questioning the sanity of his brains if I should be frank with Ghanaians.

Is he not the very person who has by his populist politics impeded the fight against galamsey as was initiated and executed by President Nana Akufo-Addo and his NPP government?

Was he not the one that assured the illegal miners that were he to win election 2020, he would encourage and resource them to expand their activities hence they should vote for him, and indeed, all the electorates in the mining areas in Ghana did vote for him massively?

Had he declared support for the president’s initiative, galamsey could have been successfully or drastically reduced, if not totally eradicated from Ghana by now. However, for his quest for power, he decided to resort to populism in the sure hope of garnering more votes to oust President Akufo-Addo from power.

Why is he today saying he will use AI to control galamsey? Does he understand what is AI and how to apply it in the field of the ongoing devastating galamsey?

Now, all the advanced countries are intending to apply AI in many areas of their socio-economic development and nation building to better the lives of their people. Therefore, populist John Mahama in his dire quest for power thinks he can easily fool Ghanaians by promising to go the same way, citing it to be used to control or fight galamsey.

If Ghanaians indeed have not a short memory, as always says Mr John Dramani Mahama, they would not tolerate his further lies to fight galamsey using AI.

Do Ghanaians understand AI in the first place and its application to make things easier and achievable for the betterment of people? I am afraid not.

What is AI at all, one may ask? Let me quote from Wikipedia what it is. “Artificial intelligence (AI), in its broadest sense, is intelligence exhibited by machines, particularly computer systems. It is a field of research in computer science that develops and studies methods and software that enable machines to perceive their environment and uses learning and intelligence to take actions that maximize their chances of achieving defined goals.[1] Such machines may be called AIs”

He is only citing AI as though it was a magical wand that could let things happen simply by swirling it. No, it isn’t.

He is mentioning the AI because many a politically unsavvy Ghanaian may be confused to believe that it is such a great innovation to create jobs for them hence they had better vote John Mahama come election 2024. He is simply a con man. Pure as!

Does he think telling Ghanaians he will use AI to fight or control galamsey makes him a better person to rule Ghana hence Ghanaians must elect him president? No, he isn’t. He is just a cunning opportunist playing on the intelligence of many a Ghanaian that cannot intellectually scrutinise his thoughtless electioneering promises.

I know the NDC folks have seized upon that promise of AI by their leader and spreading it like a mid-summer (harmattan) bushfire in attempts to persuade Ghanaians to vote Mahama because he has big brains and big plans for Ghana. Hahahahaa, he doesn’t.

Can Mr Mahama come out to explain to Ghanaians how he will successfully fight galamsey using AI?

Why is he now going to fight galamsey? Is he reneging on his earlier promise to the illegal small-scale miners that he would facilitate their activities by resourcing them in whatever areas they would require his assistance?

As he has difficulty understanding and explaining his 24-Hour Economy, so also does he have same problem with his decision to apply the AIs to fighting galamsey.

John Mahama has two mouths. He is fake. He is populist and therefore, a total misfit to rule Ghana. This is my candid opinion about the man John Dramani Mahama, the NDC presidential candidate..
