Ghanaian academic and New Patriotic Party stalwart Professor Kwesi Yankah has called on Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong to make amends with Francis Asenso Boakye after the bitter confrontations ahead of the contest in the Bantama constituency primary.

In a lengthy Facebook post analyzing the events, Prof. Yankah praised losing candidate Ralph Agyapong for congratulating Asenso Boakye despite the acrimonious campaign.

He said "Ralph despite the bitter contest, plucked love and courage, and walked to Asenso lifting his hand in congratulation. It was such a moving spectacle. No victors, no losers."

Prof. Yankah specifically called on Kennedy Agyapong to follow Ralph's example, saying "I hereby request Ken to do likewise, and in the name of Valentine extend a warm hand to Asenso, putting behind them a bitter campaign trail that needlessly sapped energies; then work towards further victories for democracy."

During the campaign period, Kennedy Agyapong had attacked Asenso Boakye, reportedly calling him the "son of a Konkonte seller" in a derogatory manner.

He also labelled his colleague lawmaker as corrupt and vowed to expose his deeds if delegates votes for him again.
