Haruna Iddrisu Has Seen Defeat Staring At Him; Time For Him To Bow Out

For the first time with my stay in the Tamale South Constituency where the underperforming MP has been the member of Parliament for the constituents since 2004 to date.

I was taken aback on Monday, February 5 on my way home when I saw lots of posters belonging to Hon. Haruna Iddrisu on the streets.

Indeed, this new phenomenon caught my eye with lots of questions on my mind than answers, and it all boils down to why such multiple posters are available all of a sudden.

The member of Parliament for the Constituency has always been reluctant with such things in the Constituency especially when other candidates in different Constituencies do and he always relaxes as if there's no contest in his backyard.

Unfortunately, he in the past elections normally abandoned his Constituency and moved to other Constituencies to vigorously campaign for his close associates who needed his support.

Interestingly, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu of yesterday or in our previous elections is not the same man today, especially with the way and manner the constituents are fed up with his lackadaisical approach and total neglect.

In a strict sense, people within the umbrella family in the Northern Region and Tamale South Constituency are disappointed in the leadership style of the Honourable Member of Parliament, particularly with all the brouhaha within the party.

In effect, the lack of trust in the leadership of Hon. Haruna Iddrisu isn't from the Northern Region alone but at the National level where he was sacked or ousted as minority leader by the National Chairman of NDC, Aseidu Nketia.

This singular act created lots of disaffection among the members of Parliament and some key stakeholders of NDC in the Northern Region where there are huge cracks created within the circles of NDC.

However, the question asked by some NDC folks is, why must it always be the member of Parliament for Tamale South anytime there is commotion with NDC as the talking point in the Northern Region?

Fast forward and respectfully, the member of Parliament for Tamale South has outlived his usefulness when it comes to his poor show as minority leader and member of Parliament for Tamale South Constituency.

To buttress my point, the member of Parliament has taken the good people of Tamale South for granted and what we are witnessing now clearly exposed him mainly when it comes to the signal he is receiving on the grounds.

Furthermore, the electorates have seen his abysmal performance for the past long years without improvement in the lives of the good people who used to have a strong belief in him but unfortunately with the same pace of development and youth empowerment across the length and breadth of the Constituency.

As the saying goes, "Time reveals everything". Time has exposed him and key members of the NDC have no confidence in him again as a representative of the people in the Constituency which is engulfed with lots of developmental challenges.

Back to the meat of this whole piece, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu's presence in the Constituency and the subsequent posters all over the street have been questioned by many as a strange phenomenon.

In addition, he recently through mere rhetoric promised to give Former President Mahama over ninety thousand votes in this year's Election which I considered as talk without weight for such a thing to happen particularly because of the disconnect between him and the Former President which he is only trying to play with it in the public as if they of good talking terms.

In conclusion, The member of Parliament for Tamale South has seen a signal of the total rejection from the good people of the Constituency who are living testimonies with the woeful performance and the coming in of a formidable force to challenge him this year, Hon. Alhaji Fuseini Musah (Fuzzy) on the ticket of New Patriotic Party (NPP: Development in Freedom).
