Ghanaian chef Failatu Abdul-Razak has received a commendation from the Communication Minister and Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West constituency, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, for her remarkable achievement in reaching a 227-hour cook-a-thon, spanning 10 days.

Faila embarked on the ambitious cooking marathon on New Year's Day to break the existing record of 119 hours set by Alan Fisher.

On Wednesday, she successfully surpassed the previous record, showcasing her dedication and resilience in the kitchen.

Minister Ursula Owusu-Ekuful expressed admiration for Chef Faila's accomplishment, highlighting the essence of her feat in showcasing the resilience of women.

The Minister acknowledged the physical challenges of standing for extended periods, noting that even she experiences waist pains after half a day of cooking.

"This shows the resilience of women. I don’t know the number of men who’ll be able to stand on their feet for over 227 hours.

“We’re proud of her. Well done. I’m so impressed. I even get waist pains standing for half a day to cook; not to even talk of standing for over 200 hours.

“God bless her. She’s really done well. We’re rooting for her.

“I don’t think anyone can break this record; except if they are a witch," Minister Ursula Owusu-Ekuful remarked during an interview on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo' morning show.
