Not all that glitters is gold, beware of lofty promises – Mahama caution Ghanaians

Former President John Dramani Mahama is urging voters to handle political promises with skepticism as the 2024 general elections draw near.

Speaking at the Apostolic Continuation Church in Techiman during his "Building Ghana Tour" campaign, Sunday, 19 November 2023, Mr Mahama cautioned against lofty promises.

“We all remember that some time back, some people came to us with lofty promises. Mostly, all these promises are for the votes of electorates. Not all that glitters is gold,” Mr Mahama noted.

The Apostolic Continuation Church marked the beginning of the "Building Ghana Tour" campaign, where Mahama and his team worshipped.

The former President then proceeded to the Assemblies of God Church, acknowledging the economic challenges facing the country.

During his visit to the Assemblies of God Church, Mr Mahama addressed the economic challenges in the country, calling on the Christian community to pray for a leader who can guide the nation through the current crises.

He said, "God will choose for us a leader who will deliver the country and set us on a path of prosperity."

As the "Building Ghana Tour" continued, Mahama visited the Builders Christian Church International, emphasizing the importance of faith. He advised the Christian community to hold on to their faith and find solace in the Bible's message of hope.

The message from the leader of the NDC resonated well with the Christian community in Techiman, as the “Building Ghana Tour” made its way through various churches.
