The Deputy Director, Events and Programs for the Volta Regional Youth Wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Godwin Mawutor Wuankah has vowed to snatch the Ho West Parliamentary seat from Hon. Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzra for the NPP in the 2024 general elections.

The Akome Electoral Area Coordinator of the NPP, an experienced entrepreneur and professional, serving as the Director of Accounts and Finance at Bizline Consult gave this assurance as he picked his nomination forms at the party's constituency office at Dzolokpuita in the Ho West Constituency on Tuesday, July 25, 2023.

Mr. Godwin Mawutor Wuanka is the second to pick his nomination forms out of the expected four to contest the NPP primaries in the Ho West.

Speaking to the media, Godwin bemoaned the state of Ho West in terms of development.

"Ho West is a constituency that needs assistance and support but it will surprise you that the calibre of people who got the opportunity to transform the constituency that we have been looking forward to that can support Ho West in diverse but the value remains the same. The problem is the same, it means it not getting better but rather increasing for example youth unemployment is on the rise in the Constituency," he stated.

He believes it's the time for the youth to transform the Ho West hence his decision to pick nomination forms to contest the parliamentary primaries in the party and subsequently win to contest the parliamentary seat.

"We have had research conducted on the Ho West in terms of development so our target is not even on NPP aspirants. The target is NDC precisely EKB sixteen years, if you have skills and strategic plans for development you can use sixteen years even ten years is enough for it to manifest to transform Ho West but the value is the same," Mr Wuanka noted.

He is however promising an insurance policy that could cover the citizens of Ho West aimed at cutting down financial challenges and burdens the people of Ho West faces in times of emergencies.

"It will surprise you that people of Ho West borrowed money for even funerals, it is sad! but we are coming with an insurance policy, we will make sure we ensure every household or at least one person could benefit from each household in Ho West, the whole of Ghana last week per the insurance companies the policy was 1%. So I want to assure Ghana, the people of Ho West that when they vote me to represent them in parliament the Ho West insurance coverage will be up to 50% in my first term of office as an MP," he stated.

Mr. Wuanka again promised the establishment of a financial institution in the Ho West to aid and transform businesses in the constituency if he wins the Parliamentary sit on the ticket of the NPP in the Ho West.

"We are going to bring back financial institutions to Ho West even if not financial institution we shall bring back agency banking to aid small scale businesses to have easy access without travelling to Ho before they can do their banking transactions. Besides, we are going to create financial packages for businesses. We shall make sure we train them on entrepreneurship and then help them with mentoring programs and when they are investor ready we shall present them to the financial institution so they can build their businesses," he stated.

According to him, people in the Ho West Constituency will begin to rely on and feed themselves with their own farm produce from the Ho West when he becomes the MP for the constituency.

He disclosed that about two weeks ago he engaged some international organization to aid farmers in training and also provide insurance packages to farmers and buy crops from the farmers directly.
