The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is behind most of the changes made in respect to Ghana's democratic election after the 1992 general elections which saw the National Democratic Congress (NDC), according to the party's General Secretary Frimpong Kodua.

He said the NPP is also known to be a party with most social intervention programs that have over the years positively affected the livelihood of Ghanaians.

Speaking at a press briefing as part of the party's 30th Anniversary celebration in Accra on Thursday, 28th July, 2022, he stated, "The New Patriotic Party is a centre-right and liberal-conservative political party in Ghana. Since the democratisation of Ghana in 1992, it has been one of the two dominant parties in Ghanaian politics, with its leading rival being the centre-left National Democratic Congress."

Mr. Frimpong Kodua mentioned introduction of the National Health Insurance Scheme, free maternal healthcare, Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty and capitation grant and the Ghana School Feeding Program.

He stressed the NPP also undertook pension reforms and initiated cocoa mass spraying exercise under former President John Kufuor administration.

With regard to the leadership of President Akufo-Addo, the General Secretary also mentioned Free Senior High School Education Program, One District One Factory, One District One Warehouse, One Village One Dam, and Planting for Food and Jobs.

He has, however, challenged party leadership as well as supporters to work hard to break the '8' political jinx in Ghana's politics.

Islamic and Christian prayers would also be offered on Friday and Sunday respectively, according to the General Secretary.
