Staff of Customs Division at KIA Undergo Training

The Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority as part of efforts in enhancing its operations at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) has trained its staff in scanning and image analysis, radiation protection, dangerous goods and nuclear security.

Qatar Airways adds Abidjan to Network, Begins Direct Accra-Doha Service

Qatar Airways on June 16, 2021, added Abidjan as its latest destination in Africa. The airline which will now be operating flights from Doha to Abidjan on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays will use Accra as a stop. By extension, flights between Accra and Doha will now be operated directly from Accra bringing to an end the era where passengers connecting from Accra had to travel to Doha via Lagos.

Emirates Records Financial Loss for the First Time in 30years

Emirates Group for the first time in 30years has posted a financial loss of $6billion for the financial year ending March 2021. The COVID-19 Pandemic which has affected the full operations of the airline compared to pre-pandemic levels has been the main cause of this loss.

British Airways Finally Confirms Rescinding its Decision to Switch Airports for Accra-London-Accra

The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has indicated that British Airways has confirmed rescinding its decision to move flights between Accra and London from Heathrow Airport to Gatwick Airport in a letter last week. This comes after the airline and the country’s aviation authorities have been engaged in a back and forth over the plan to switch airports after October 2021.

Air France Receives Highest Award Status for Safety and Health

Air France earlier this week announced that it has received a Diamond Rating by APEX Health Safety powered by Simpliflying. The award is a recognition of the airline’s commitment to prioritize the safety and health of its customers by implementing the best measures, particularly during this COVID-19 pandemic.
