The Parliament of Ghana is on recess and they are expected to reconvene on the second week of May, 2021.

Recess is a period of time when the proceedings of a parliament, committee, court of law, or other official body are temporarily suspended.

Due to Covid-19 and its ravaging effects on every economy around the globe, parliamentary recess has increased more than normal in order to give our MP's some respite.

It is during such breaks that most parliamentarians take the opportunity to visit their respective constituencies to familiarise themselves with the current happenings.

Again, it is the period that most parliamentarians use to monitor progress of ongoing developmental projects initiated by the government.

As a result of this, the Member of Parliament for Cape Coast North, Dr. Kwamena Minta Nyarku, commonly known as Ragga has taken the opportunity of the recess to wrap his thank-you tour which he started last year after the elections.

Over the weekend as part of wrapping up on his thank-you tour, he donated some thirty (30), 50kg bags of sugar to the Cape Coast North Constituency Association of Muslim Chiefs.

During the donation ceremony that took place at Essuekyir, a suburb within the Cape Coast North Constituency, Ragga as he is affectionately called said, before the elections he went round and was given some pieces of advice, strategies, wise counsel and directions. He therefore deems it expedient to come and thank them after winning the elections.

Further he said, it is upon coming to thank them which has coincided with their Ramadan fasting period. "I felt obliged to contribute my widows might to help my Muslim brothers and sisters to complete their fast".

"One good turn deserves another and once they gave me advise, prayed for me and I've won the elections, I needed to show appreciation to them in this regard".

Upon receiving the donation, Sarki Samani Suleiman Abdulai Otoo who is the Ebubonko Mmranteɛ Hene for the Muslims Youth, said "It doesn't normally happen that someone is voted for and he/she remembers the Chiefs and come to show appreciation".

"From Lawyer Oduro till the immediate past MP, this gesture has never happened to our Association. All we can say is, may Allah continue to bless him and his works. We also pray that any impediments that may come his way should be prevented by Allah".

Present at the donation ceremony were all the Chiefs of the Association, some branch executives, and some Muslims inhabitant within the Constituency.
