According to Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary, the time of life when a person is young, especially the time before a child becomes an adult this is what is defined as a youth. He or she has a talent or gift from God (New Edition, 2010). The youth is considered as a group of people between the ages of 15-24, Adolescent group ranges from 15-35 years according to the National Youth Policy (National Youth Policy, August 2010)

The definition of youth varies from country to country. Generally, the period between childhood and adulthood is called Youth. During this period of a person, prepares himself to be an active and fully responsible member of society. It is also a period of transformation from a family dependent childhood to independent adulthood and integration into the society as a responsible citizen. There is a need for the youth to be directed by opinion leaders of today. This well helps them to learn processes for prospering or advancing in life.

Youth enterprise is the creation and management of jobs and how to manage it yourself without relying on professionals to direct on what is supposed to be done. The most important issues of youth enterprise is the procedure of identifying or recognizing the need to have interaction and technical knowledge. The study of the market environment and its segment, business planning, education and training (capacity building), short programs for the youth, seminars, workshop and many other symposiums of activities and financial capital aside human capital are also involved.

The youth must be educated and trained on how to establish jobs to sustain their lives. Creation of jobs can help the indigenous members of the community and prevent migration to urban centers for greener pastures. The youth must focus on vision and dreams about their own jobs within the society. The youth are the future leaders of the country. They are to sell short and long term ideas, they are very strong and the society sees them differently, they need to be encouraged to develop themselves. They must be able to see problems as opportunities to create solutions. They should gather much information and support before they make the move into enterprise.

The Ghanaian youth should be able to create jobs for themselves through creativity and innovation.
