For the record: 419 or moral standards upside down - Part 3
21.03.2021 LISTEN

I walked around Greda Estate at night for fresh air. Three men stood around a car in front of the uncompleted structure of a big hotel (the owner had died months before). One man introduced himself as a Ghanaian businessman assisting his two partners from Guinea. One of the Guineans presented his business card mentioning he had a consignment to be processed at the airport but facing challenges there. The Ghanaian stated certainly I would know of the problems at KIA airport and that Ghc 3500 bribe money would make it possible to bring the consignment out. I had a hard time keeping to myself and not laugh out loud in their faces to avoid unwanted dangerous reactions. Back home I laughed as loud as God permitted causing stomach pain to myself.

Outside our location, in Greda Estate a young man with a giant cross around his neck approached me. He said to be looking after two Liberian orphans in the nearby Liberian camp. They had US dollars 2 Mio. in a secrete place in the camp. They need a trustworthy person to invest in a good business. He asked for my phone number. Three months later an unknown number called me. A "General" reminded me of the young man-months back that he would hold in his custody. The papers are ready for the release of the US dollars 2 Mio., I would only have to pay Ghc 2000 for his service. I declined and ended the call saying I never pay for money to invest but can assist with my ideas. Fifteen minutes passed, the young man called beginning I should set him free and pay the money. I laughed and laughed...what a jolly good time these people gave me!
