President Akufo-Addo has jetted off to Chad to attend the 7th Session of the Ordinary Summit of Heads of States of G5 Sahel in the capacity as the Chairperson of ECOWAS.
The Summit is held in N’Djamena, the capital of Chad, and key among the agenda is the progress made against the Islamic insurgency in the region.
In his accompany are the Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration Minister-designate, Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botcwey, the Minister-designate for National Security, Hon. Albert Kan Dapaah, and officials from the Presidency and the Foreign Affairs Ministry.
The President is expected back to the country on Monday. Vice President, Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, shall, in accordance with Article 60(8) of the Constitution, act in his stead.
