The chairman of the Ghana Private and Road Transport Union (GPRTU) of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) Mr. Kwame Kumah has hinted that the lorry fare increment posed by drivers due to the reduction in the number of passenger size is illegal and unapproved lamenting that passengers rather compel themselves to pay extra money to get the services of drivers which is illegal adding that "if passengers are father Christmas and decide to pay more no driver will reject "

"Passengers allegedly pay willingly fares to drivers to get them transported to their place of destination" he opined

Mr. Kwame Kumah stressed that lorry fare increment only comes after incrementing in fuel prices which is not the bone of contention amidst the era of COVID-19.

In an interview with *K.B* on Agoo morning show on Radio Link in the Bono East Regional Capital Techiman

Mr. Kwame Kumah pinpointed that Reduction in the number of passengers was not meant to increase fare prices

He, however, tasked drivers and passengers to obey the directives of the president by wearing of either nose or face masks, proper and regular hand sanitizing, washing of hands under running water in a Veronica bucket to prevent them from contracting or spreading the deadly Coronavirus

He advised drivers to exercise patience for he believes in no time, COVID 19 pandemic would be the thing of the past and the transportation industry would soon get to its normalcy.
