Top Model of Colour UK is the biggest modelling competition for Models of Colour (models of African, Caribbean, Hispanic, Oriental, Asian and mixed heritage ethnicity), in the world and is open to male and female contestants. Top Model of Colour is currently held in the UK, Gambia, Holland and Nigeria and will also soon be in Ghana, South Africa, Sierra Leone, Zimbabwe, Namibia and the USA.

TMC gives models the chance to gain experience of the modelling industry and the possibility of being discovered and going on to become supermodels. This is surely a competition that opens many doors not just to the winner but also to all who participate. Over the past four years, TMC has helped developed modelling careers providing rewarding contracts in the fashion and entertainment world.

This year's event took place at the Porchester Hotel on the 27th of November 2010 and I must say it was an event worth attending. Nana Afua Antwi was awarded the Top Model of Colour 2010. Nana is an aspiring model, An Ashanti girl from Ghana currently based in London studying Art & Design specializing in Fashion. Nana has an ambition of becoming a successful Model and a Top Designer as a career. She is the first Ghana girl to win the title since the huge success of the competition in 2006, with much shock and more excitement on beating 17 other hopeful contestants to win the title

Nana Afua also revealed to her press interview that her inspiration for entering the competition was to use it as a platform to support single mothers living harsh lives in the rural parts of Ghana and also to inspire young ones out there in achieving their dreams and anticipations to the next level.
