Ghanaian actor and YouTube content creator Kyekyeku has lamented the high cost of living in Accra, Ghana's capital city.

In an interview with blogger ZionFelix, Kyekyeku compared Accra to Kumasi, Ghana's second-largest city and his hometown.

He said that things are much more affordable in Kumasi, the Ashanti regional capital and capital of the ancient Asante kingdom.

"Accra is a nice place, but the cost of living is quite high," Kyekyeku said, adding, “In Kumasi, prices of goods are average and affordable. But in Accra, prices are a bit higher - an item that costs GH¢20 in Kumasi will be GH¢25 in Accra."

Kyekyeku attributed the higher prices in Accra to the fact that it is the country's capital city.

Regarding his daily expenses, Kyekyeku estimated that he spends between GH¢700 to GH¢800 per day on fuel, food, and other necessities while in Accra.

Recently, Kyekyeku - who was mentored by actor Ras Nene - moved to Accra to prepare for the premiere of his new movie '1957'.

He explained in the interview that one of his reasons is to better acquaint himself with the people of Accra.

The premiere of '1957' will take place at the National Theatre in Accra on April 27, 2024.
