Afrobeats sensation Olive The Boy has expressed disappointment over what he perceives as a snub in certain categories for the upcoming Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).

The artiste, known for his hit track "Goodsin," has received three nominations but believes he should have been considered for additional categories, particularly Album/EP of the year and Best Afrobeats artiste of the year.

His management has taken steps to address this perceived oversight by petitioning the TGMA scheme, seeking consideration for the additional categories.

In an interview on TV3's New Day, Olive The Boy stated, "I think there are these two that I feel like I should have been in.

“The EP/Album of the year because 'Goodsin' was an EP and Afrobeats artiste of the year. We have actually presented a petition so we are on the lookout."

Robert Klah, the Public Relations Officer for Charterhouse, the organisers of the Ghana Music Awards, has encouraged artistes with similar concerns to seek clarification from the scheme.

"If you feel strongly about your petition that you ought to be there, we support you 100%. Reach out to us and let’s make the necessary corrections and clarifications," Klah stated in an interview on Hitz FM.

Meanwhile, other artists, including Amerado, have also expressed their dissatisfaction with the nominations.

Amerado, known for his hit song "Kweku Ananse," seeks clarification as to why the track did not merit a nomination for the most popular song of the year category.
