Ghanaian-American comedian and actor Michael Blackson has disclosed his type of woman, revealing that preparation of a good Ghanaian Jollof rice is a key factor in choosing his life partner.

In a lighthearted yet seemingly serious manner, Blackson expressed that the ability to master the art of cooking Ghana Jollof, a beloved and culturally major dish in Ghana, is a requirement for winning his heart.

Jollof rice, a one-pot dish made with rice, tomatoes, onions, and various spices, holds a special place in the hearts and palates of many Africans.

During an interview with Doreen Avio at the 1st-anniversary celebrations of his school in Agona Nsaba, Central Region, Michael Blackson humorously laid out his culinary criterion for choosing his future spouse.

“Jollof test. You have to cook jollof and I have to taste it and it has to be great. I hang out with a lot of Nigerians, Sierra Leoneans, and even Chinese with fried rice. If my wife cannot represent my country with the perfect Ghana jollof, I can’t marry you," declared Blackson.

While it remains to be seen whether this culinary criterion is a non-negotiable aspect of Blackson's search for love, he shared an amusing anecdote about almost marrying his housekeeper due to her exceptional Jollof cooking skills.

“I’m so close to marrying my housekeeper. She cooked some jollof the other day. It is part of the best jollof I have had in a very long time," he stated.
