ImageBureau and the National Theatre, leading arts organizations have issued an apology after theatre goers were turned away from a sold-out performance due to unavailability of space.

They faced backlash after patrons who purchased tickets for the final showing of "The Gods Are Not to Blame" were unable to enter the auditorium because it had reached maximum capacity.

In a statement dated December 21, ImageBureau Director George Quaye said "We sincerely regret the oversight in failing to closely monitor the total number of tickets sold per the available seats, resulting in this distressing and embarrassing situation."

Quaye continued, "We do understand the disappointment and frustration you must have felt and we are truly sorry."

To make amends, ImageBureau will add two additional performances of the play on December 27th and 28th to give those turned away a chance to see the production.

Current ticket holders can use their tickets for either added date, noted the organizers.

The organization also acknowledged some patrons may seek refunds, saying their team will work to "resolve all refund issues in the coming days."

ImageBureau further assured patrons that they "have thoroughly reviewed our ticketing system and implemented comprehensive and stringent measures to prevent a recurrence of such an incident."
