After hitting a historical milestone of a million streams on Youtube in a few days with his Sore remix featuring UK-based Ghanaian rapper, Stormzy, young drill singer and rapper, Thorsten Owusu Gyimah, better known as Yaw Tog, became a household moniker.

Additionally, clinching the best hip-hop song with the track from both 3 music and the VGMA’s in 2020, the younger rapper admits that his name in the industry have been heightened.

In an interview on the Cape Coast-based Kastle FM’s entertainment show, Yaw Tog said the song has taken him to a certain level that makes Ghanaians pressure him to come up with hit songs.

But for the award-winning singer, the best way to do music is not to think of hit songs but good music to inspire people.

“I will say that I have taken myself to a certain limit and so that’s what Ghanaians are expecting from me and sore was my viral hit song.

“Music is like you don’t have to put it in your mind that you want a hit song but you have to get a good song and that’s it,” he said.

He explained, “if the song is good you are one hundred per cent correct so to me I work hard to produce good songs and not hit songs.”

He continued that “because when the song is good it will definitely become a hit so it’s the people who are expecting something huge but I just go to the studio, do a good song and release it.”
